Forum Content Policy
The Eternity Arts forums exist to help members learn, critique each other's work, and solve problems together. This policy covers what members can post, what we may remove, and how ownership of posted content works.
By posting in the forums, you agree to this policy.
What belongs in the forums
Post in the right place
We have three forum categories. Post in the one that fits what you're asking:
- Getting Started — beginner questions, introductions, first attempts, basic technique questions
- Advanced & Critique — intermediate and advanced technique discussion, work submitted for feedback, finished drawings
- Support — product questions, event logistics, platform troubleshooting
If you're not sure where something belongs, Getting Started is always a safe default.
How to treat other members
House rules
Be civil. Members come from a wide range of backgrounds, skill levels, and theological traditions. Disagree with ideas, not with people.
Critique is welcome when it's asked for. If a member posts in Advanced & Critique asking for feedback, give honest and constructive feedback. If a member posts finished work without asking for critique, celebrate it instead.
Credit other artists. When you post another artist's work — a reference image, an inspiration piece, a technique example — name the artist. If you don't know who made it, say that.
Don't share member content outside the forums. What members post in the forums is for other members. Don't screenshot and post it to social media, don't share it with non-members, don't use another member's drawing in your own presentation without their explicit permission.
What's not allowed
Content we will remove
- Harassment or personal attacks on other members, Eternity Arts staff, or named third parties
- Hate speech targeting any group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or national origin
- Sexually explicit or obscene content of any kind
- Graphic violence, gore, or disturbing imagery
- Spam, solicitation, or advertising of unrelated products or services — members may mention their own chalk-art ministry, events they're performing at, or their own work, but the forums aren't a marketing channel
- Scams, fraudulent claims, or misleading commercial content
- Copyrighted material posted without permission — including song lyrics, published books, copyrighted reference images, and other artists' work
- Private information about other people — real names, addresses, phone numbers, or identifying details posted without their consent
- Content promoting illegal activity
- Content that misrepresents or falsely attributes teaching to Eternity Arts, Matt Bowman, or named chalk-art pioneers
This list isn't exhaustive. We reserve the right to remove content that harms the community even if it isn't specifically listed here.
Who owns what you post
Your content, our license to host it
You keep ownership of anything you post in the forums — your drawings, your writing, your photos, your ideas.
You grant us a license to host, display, and distribute your posts within the platform so the forums can function. This license covers what's necessary to show your post to other members, to display it in search results within the forums, and to keep it available in the forum's history.
We won't use your posted work outside the platform — in marketing, on the homepage, in email campaigns, on social media — without your explicit permission.
You're responsible for having the right to post what you post. If you post someone else's work, that's on you.
Moderation
How we handle problems
Routine moderation. Eternity Arts staff monitor the forums and may remove posts that violate this policy. We try to explain why when we remove something — either by leaving a moderator note in the thread or by emailing the member.
Reporting a post. If you see something that violates this policy, email service@eternityarts.com with a link to the post. We'll review it within two business days.
Appeals. If you disagree with a moderation decision, reply to the notification email and explain why. We'll reconsider and get back to you.
Escalation. Repeated violations may result in posting restrictions, forum suspension, or membership termination. For termination procedures, see the membership terms.
Your right to delete
Removing your own content
You can delete your own posts at any time from your account profile. Deleted posts are removed from public view immediately and from our servers within 30 days. Replies from other members to your deleted posts remain visible but will show the parent post as deleted.
If you close your membership, your posts remain in the forums by default (they're part of conversations that other members participated in). If you want your posts removed when you close your membership, email service@eternityarts.com and we'll remove them within 30 days of your account closing.
Changes to this policy
When we update
We may update this policy from time to time as the community grows and we learn what works. If we make material changes, we'll announce them in the forums at least 14 days before they take effect.
