Chalk sets for artists, educators, and gospel chalk talks

Hand-selected color assortments of our lecturer’s chalk, pre-boxed and ready to ship. Each stick measures 1″×1″×3″ and is made by hand in Boyne City, Michigan.

The 72-count Basic Colors Set is where most artists start — it covers the colors that get used most, in the quantities they get used most. Smaller pre-built sets are good for travel, for gifts, or for testing before you commit to a full kit.

How to pick

Start with the 72-count Basic Colors Set if you’re building your first real kit, teaching a class, or stocking a church or camp. It’s the most-used set we make, and the one Matt recommends nine times out of ten.

The 35-count Half Box is the same idea in a smaller package — a good choice if you’re testing the chalk for the first time, or if you’re buying for a children’s workshop or a light-use studio.

The Soft Pastel Quick Sets (Blues, Bright Shades, Greens, Browns, Violets, Black/Grays/White, and the Power Pastel) are narrower palettes built around a single tonal range. Pick one to round out a set you already have, or to lean into a specific kind of work — portraiture, landscape, sky and water.

For missing single colors or custom palettes, shop single stick colors instead.

Common questions about sets

Can I customize a set?
Not yet through the website — but if you need a custom color mix for a large order (72 sticks of a solid color or more), call us at 231-675-9210 and we’ll build it.
Will colors in the set transfer onto each other?
A little, in transit. Lecturer’s chalk is soft by design and porous. Brush off any dust with a dry cloth or paintbrush before use. Don’t use water — it’ll soak in and stain the stick.
Do the colors in your sets match other brands?
No. Our formulas are our own, and the pigment loads are higher than most commercial chalk or pastel. Colors won’t map 1:1 to another manufacturer’s palette.
Can I return a set I don’t like?
See our return policy for details. In general: sealed, unused sets within 30 days, yes.
